SOUND PRODUCTION - Practice and Theory
Those courses were focused on recording techniques, microphone techniques and placement along with connect and test an audio system.
I also learned mix and basics of mastering by learning the use of audio signal processing for recording and mixing such as:
- Gain structure
- Equalisation
- Compression/limiting
- Gating/expansion
- Time domain effects (reverbs, delay)
I did recording practice in the Recording Studio at university.
As a final project i had to produce 3 mixes and mastering and an essay about one of them.
For the essay i chose the song "Take Flight" from NC Music students that i recorded with my fellow classmate Sarah Mackie in the studio at university.
On this page are some pictures of the recording session and the 3 final mixes.
